- Travel to Arizona
- » Swany departs from Orlando, Florida on her birthday, at 7am to Houston, TX
- » Lisa departs from Cincinnati, Ohio at 6am to Houston, TX
- » Lisa & Swany meet-up in Houston's Airport & get ready to board a connecting flight to finial destination: Tucson, AZ
- » A cool old lady Swany sat next to on the plane from Orlando to Houston brings her birthday cookies because she's a super nice lady!
Thanks random cool person! - » Lisa & Swany go grab the nastiest panini's from a restaurant in the Houston Airport! Old bacon...nasty!!
- » There were about 25 stand-by passengers waiting along with us to get on the flight. We didn't think we were going to make it, but at the last minute our names were called!
- Erika picks up Swany & Lisa from airport
- » Swany & Lisa got to the airport & called Erika, who was about an hour away, but on her way to pick us up.
- » In the baggage claim are there are some comfy chairs & a TV that shows people coming out of the arriving flights gate. So we passed the time with a few other middle-aged lady stragglers & laughed at people. There was also a weird sculptural that we were all trying to decipher. Swany figured it out, it was a suitcase with clothes! AH HA! Who knew?
- » Erika finally arrives & the gang heads to In & Out Burger for munchies
- » Made it to Mom's house, got unpacked.. rested a bit & headed out to do a little Geocaching!
- » Went down the road, parked the car & hiked a bit... We found 3 Geocaches! (Hole in the Rock, Hint of Pink, & Tour De Tucson) Swany found her first one ever! Woo Hoo!
- » Headed back to Mom's house, Erika had to go babysit which gave Swany & Lisa time to take a quick nap!
- 6 O'Clock Rolls Around
- » Dan, Lisa, & Swany leave house to pick up Mom at bus station & head to Swany's birthday dinner at BJ's Brewhouse.
- » As an appetizer we all devoured the Spinach Dip!
Swany had a bowl of chili, house salad, Cajun Pasta, & a coke to drink.
Lisa had the Old-Fashioned Pot Roast
Mom had Scampi Pasta with sundried tomatoes added
Dan swallowed the Angus Pot Roast Sandwich
For Erika we took home the Turkey Club Sandwich - Overall it was a pretty good dinner. They were going to seat us in chairs but Swany asked for a booth & we got one! Nice place to eat & friendly staff.

- Did someone say "fresh lemonade?"
- » Mom, Swany, & Lisa collected fresh lemons, oranges, & grapefruit from Mom's trees outback.
- » Mom made some excellent lemonade, & we munched on some oranges.
- Drive Thru Park
- » Mom took Swany on a drive thru the park to hike to some great photo spots.
- » Erika & Lisa went to the fabric store. They looked for cool things to make into geocaching containers. Lisa ended up getting some "fossil fern fabric" to make a pillowcase!
- Dinner
- » Mom made a classic dinner of Mac & Cheese & sausage!! Dan also made his version of homemade Mac & Cheese. We drank the rest of the Lemonade!
- » Finished off the night with a few games of Dr. Mario... we really like to play this game against each other!
- » Everyone went to bed pretty early while Swany stayed up slaving over updating the website & pictures! Someone's reading this right?! Oh well, at least Swany got to see a shooting star!
» 3.20.09 Friday
- 4th Avenue Spring Street Fair
- » Woke up & ate breakfast pretty early... we are still getting used to the time change!
- » Lisa ate the rest of Dan's Mac & Cheese for breakfast.
- » Swany, Lisa, Mom, & Dan went to the 4th Avenue Spring Street Fair.
- » Ended up parking at a Church, paying 5 bucks & walking 4 blocks to the fair.
- » We certainly did our share of "Fair Eating" including: carmel apples, chocolate covered strawberries & bananas, giant hotdogs, pulled pork sandwiches, huge blue snowcones, & strawberry slushy drinks!
- » Stared at some wicked motorized bikes that Swany wanted to buy SO badly!
- » Walked around, shopped, took some pictures, talked to some way cool hippies & ate some great food! We stay there for bout 4 hours.
- » Everyone was so tired from walking around we decided to go back to mom's house & chill. Played some Dr. Mario, which mom kicked Lisa & Swany's ass in & watched some TV.
- » Swany finds out she is very sunburned! Uh oh! Should have put that sunscreen on!!
- » Dan made dinner.. aka TuFu Suprise, & we watched some college basketball. Pretty much stayed in for the night, hung out editing pictures & goofing off.
- » Erika got home from work around 11pm with goodies from the gas station!
» 3.21.09 Saturday
- Day of Sleep
- » Swany crashed hard and basically slept the day away. We all have those recharge moments! Thankfully her family knows her well enough to leave her alone and let her sleep! DON'T WAKE THE BEAR!
- » It is believed by scientists that Mom made more lemonade!
- Movie Time
- Swany Erika, & Lisa all went to see "I love you man!"
- Dinner
- » Chicken & Big Fluffy Dumplings!
- Everybody Into the Pool!
- » Mom, Dan, Swany, Erika, & Lisa all went to the community pool down the road. Mom has a pool but it hadn't been hot long enough to heat their pool with a solar cover.
- » The community pool was heated & hard to get out of! Can you believe it was cold in AZ? There was a hot tub there also that we all crammed into... hehe so warm!
- » After about an hour or two we all got back into the car & went home for showers & sleep!
- » We watched a little TV & went to bed. Night Night
» 3.22.09 Sunday
- Breakfast
- » We woke up at like 10am. Mom made pancakes with our initials in them! Our most favorite thing from when we were kids! We were eating them as soon as they flew off the skillet!
- » Mom, Dan, and Erika had to leave for a to see one of their friends kids in a play.
- Swany Goes to the Mall
- » Swany needed some camera accessories, so the best place to go on a Sunday looking for that stuff is... the mall!
- » Camera shop didn't have what she need, but did buy a sweet pair of shades for 12 bucks, a Blue Slushy, & Pretzel Bites!
- Drive to Mt. Lemon
- » Way our way all the way to the tip op!
- » Got home at like 9, everybody was asleep!
- » Found a Geocache! log reel (GCVEG7) Signed super long log and took a dead head coin and left a jeep toy truck
- » Found another Geocache! butterfly trail view (GC136Y1) Signed log, took nothing/left nothing.

- » Chinese Food & TV! Mom knew exactly what to get us!
- » Lisa had the Sweet & Sour Chicken with Egg Roll, & Swany had the Crab Rangoon & Rice!
- » Lisa & Swany ended up watching 2-3 episodes of Criminal Minds and then called it lights out. Big day tomorrow!
» 3.23.09 Monday
- Drive to the Grand Canyon & Site See in Page, AZ
- » Leave Tucson at 5am, it's about a 6 hour drive to Page, AZ. It's right on the Arizona/Utah border.
- Gased up & got McDonalds breakfast!
- » Swany got tired driving & decided it'd be best to pull over & take a little nap. We slept for about & hour & changed drivers. Go Lisa GO!
Best kept travel secret! If you need to pull off to grab a bit of shut eye while you're driving get off and exit with hotels and pull into a hotel parking lot. It's way safer than a rest area, it's super quiet, and no one has ever bothered me. The only place I have ever been harassed was at a rest area by a cop! Go figure! - Horseshoe Canyon
- » After a long drive through AZ we arrive at our destination. It was a tad bit windy outside.
- » There's a great scenic view point called Horseshoe Canyon right off the main highway into Page. Parking is easy and the hike to the view isn't bad at all. You have to trudge through some thick sand but the view is amazing and totally worth it!
- Snapped tons of pictures!
- Lunch Time
- » Munched on some Subway
- » Called around and found the cheapest hotel. Quality Inn $40 dollars for one night! Can't beat that!
- Went to the hotel and unloaded our gear and luggage. The room we got had a nice view and 2 huge beds!
- It was so windy the room's glass patio door was banging and making loud noises. Lisa did some recon and McGuivered the door with a flip-flop! Problem solved!
- Dam
- » Went Geocacheing lead us to a Dam Good View, and we found the cache!
- » Visited the Dam Visitor Center. It's 5 dollars for the Dam tour, we missed the last tour, so we walked around the Dam Visitor Center and snapped some pictures.
- » Hung out in the gift shop and talked to a super cool guy who gave us some maps and told us where to take some killer sunset photos.
- Scenic Drive
- » Paid 15 dollars to drive on the Scenic Drive and took some pictures.
- Utah, say what?!
- » Drove around and somehow made our way into Utah!
- » We saw a rock that looked like Pride rock in the Lion King!
- Dinner
- » Hit up a Taco Bell.
- Late Night Adventure
- » Swany needed a memory card and Lisa needed a few goodies so we hit up the local Super Walmart... not to be confused with the regular Walmart.
- Came back to hotel and passed out!

- Back to Orlando!
- » Had to wake up SUPER early to catch the first flights to Orlando. Erika drove us to the Tucson airport, it's 4am!
- » The first flight was full and we couldn't get on, luckily the next flight was at the same gate and only about an hour away.
- Touchdown
- » Got into Orlando with some time before Brandy could pick us up so we found a place to eat.
- » Decided to get some lunch at Chilies. They have a great view overtop the arriving and departing gates so you can people watch!
- » Brandy picked us up from the Airport and we headed home with lots of leftovers.
- » Got to Brandy and Swany's house, chilled for he night, watched TV, and went to bed.
» 3.26.09 Thursday
- Long Day on the Road
- » Wake up super early again! Swany, Lisa, & Falcor start the road trip to Ohio.

- Atlanta
- » Made it to Atlanta, GA to hang out with Rick!
- » Went on a Geocacheing adventure with Rick!
- » Ordered Pizza, watched some TV, and rested for the long trip ahead of us to Ohio.
- » Falcor and Harley (Rick's dog) had a great time playing with each-other.
- » We'd been at Rick's for about 3 hours and decided to leave at like 8-9pm and finish the trip to Ohio.
- On the Road Again

- » Made it to Dad's house in Loveland Ohio at 9am.
- » Could only stay a little bit, had to get on the road to Michigan to visit the Grandparents.
- » Before we left we grabbed some Geocaches in our hometown of Loveland.
- » For lunch we stopped by Penn Station. After a quick bite to eat we were on our way to Michigan!
